Social Events

Due to a fully virtual event there will unfortunately be no social events. The list below shows what was planned for in 2020.

Social event in Kristiansand Sunday evening:
Welcome reception at Scandic Bystranda hotel
The Welcome Reception will be at Scandic Bystranda hotel in Kristiansand from 18:00-20:00.
Finger snack, coffee and tea will be served.
Dress code: casual

Social event in Kristiansand Monday:
City train and dinner
Kristiansand city train will take us on a guided tour from Campus Kristiansand to the city center after the first day of the conference. This is an open train (only roof with no walls) and we advice to bring clothes according to weather. 
Free-time and dinner at own cost.

Social events in Grimstad Tuesday. We offer three alternatives:
1. Visit to Mechatronis Innovation Lab (MIL)

MIL is a technology catapult for innovation, piloting and technology qualification within mechatronics and related areas. They offer access to technologies, competence and a linkage to a broad network. The purpose is to enable change and strengthen businesses competitiveness and level of innovation.

With over 55 different top of the art technology MIL holds the latest updated technology in the market. MIL and University of Agder work ambiousily side by side in the field om mechatronics and other related areas, and we are proud to offer a guided tour in one of the most highly equiped technical labs in the country. Approx. duration = 60 minutes. 

2. Guided tour at Creative Meeting center

Our local campus entrepreneur, Johan Benad Ugland is well knowed for his and his families farming, trade and maritime activites throughout the years. Though Ugland runs many business activities, farming is what is closest to Johan Benad Ugland’s heart. As a farmer raising pedigree cattle and deer, he spends most of his time at Storegra farm, his own private farm.

In Creative Meeting center Ugland presents his big interest for old and special cars and vehicles together with different objects from present and past. Much is related to farming, but also electrical instruments are on display. This is a meeting center one of a kind!

The meeting center is a 5 minutes walk from Campus Grimstad and there will be a small snack served together with something to drink. Approx. duration = 60-90 minutes.

3. City walk along hidden lanes and alleyways in Grimstad 

Grimstad city is full of hidden shortcuts. These lanes and alleyways form an important part of the town's history. Join us on a guided walk exploring the town's nooks and crannies, and listen to fascinating stories along the way!

The tour includes a stop at one of the local pubs where there will be beer tasting and finger snack.

We advice you to bring good walking shoes and clothes according to weather. Approx. duration = 90-120 minutes.

Conference dinner Tuesday evening
Conference dinner will be arranged at Sørlandets Technology Park Tuesday June 16 at xx:xx.
Sørlandets Technology Park is about a 5 minutes walk from Campus Grimstad.

The conference dinner will take place shortly after the social event and before the bus takes you back to Kristiansand late Tuesday evening. This means that you should bring preferred clothes and shoes for the conference dinner when you leave your hotel Tuesday morning. We have arranged for shower and dressing rooms at Sørlandets Technology Park if anyone would like to refresh before dinner.

3 course dinner with 2 drinking units included will be served. Dress code = unformal

All events are optional choises in the registration form and are included in the conference fee. In the registration form you can state what you prefer to attend and if you bring an accommpanying person.
